🧪 Analytical Lab Technician – Plant & Cannabis Testing
✅ Role Overview
We seek a meticulous Analytical Lab Technician to assist with daily sample processing and analytical method execution. Working under supervision, you'll help us ensure accurate, regulatory-aligned testing of plant-derived and cannabis products. This role emphasizes precision, data integrity, and teamwork in a fast-paced lab environment.
🎓 Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific field
- • Hands-on experience with HPLC and/or GC, especially in quality control environments
- • Competency with basic lab techniques: pipetting, weighing, sample labeling
- • Strong attention to detail with emphasis on precision and accuracy
- • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn LIMS systems
Preferred:
- • Experience with cannabis, hemp, or botanical testing matrices
- • Familiarity with residual solvent analysis and terpene profiling
- • Understanding of USP, AOAC methods, and Health Canada guidelines
🔬 Responsibilities
- • Execute routine sample preparation, extraction, dilution, filtration per SOPs
- • Perform analyses using HPLC (THC/CBD profiling), GC-MS (terpenes & solvents)
- • Maintain stringent data documentation: instrument logs, calibration records
- • Assist with instrument calibration and preventive maintenance
- • Troubleshoot routine instrument issues and flag OOS results
- • Manage inventory of reagents, consumables, and supplies
- • Ensure work adheres to GLP, Health Canada, USP/AOAC standards
- • Support uninterrupted testing schedules and quality protocols
